KERATIN BOND SUITABILITY

ARE KERATIN TIPS RIGHT FOR MY HAIR TYPE?

Best for medium to thick hair that can support the weight of individual bonds.

IDEAL CANDIDATES

Medium to thick hair. Keratin bonds work best when your natural hair can support the weight of hundreds of individual strands without strain or breakage.

Healthy, strong strands. Your hair should be in good condition — not overly damaged, brittle, or chemically compromised. Keratin bonds need a solid foundation to attach securely.

Looking for longevity. Keratin tips last 4-6 months before removal, making them ideal if you want long-term wear with minimal maintenance appointments.

Want the most natural movement. Individual bonds move independently, creating the most realistic flow and feel of any extension method.

NOT IDEAL FOR

Very fine or thin hair. If your natural hair is fragile or sparse, the weight of keratin bonds can cause stress and breakage. Hand-tied or tape-in methods distribute weight better for delicate hair.

Severely damaged hair. If your hair is breaking, splitting, or chemically over-processed, it won't support extensions safely. You'll need to restore health first.

Frequent style changes. Keratin bonds are a commitment. If you like switching up your look every few weeks, a method with easier removal might suit you better.

HOW TEXTURE AFFECTS FIT

Straight to wavy hair: Keratin bonds blend seamlessly. The bonds sit flat and invisible, and the extension hair moves naturally with your texture.

Curly hair: Works beautifully when the extension hair is matched to your curl pattern. The bonds hide well within curls and create natural volume and length.

Textured or coily hair: Can work with proper placement and matching texture. A consultation is essential to ensure the bonds won't create tension or visibility.

ASSESSING YOUR HAIR STRENGTH

During a consultation, we'll evaluate your hair's density, strand thickness, and overall health to determine if keratin bonds are the right choice.

If your hair is borderline, we can start with fewer bonds to test how your hair responds. You can always add more later if it tolerates the weight well.

If keratin bonds aren't ideal for your hair, we'll recommend hand-sewn weft or tape-in extensions instead — both are lighter and easier on fragile hair.
