Gentle handling, regular brushing, and keeping rows clean extends their lifespan.
Brush twice daily with a loop brush or soft-bristle brush designed for wefted extensions. This prevents tangling at the rows.
Start at the ends and work your way up. When you reach the rows, hold the hair just above the weft and brush downward to avoid pulling on the beads.
Be extra gentle around the beaded rows. Never brush directly through the beads or pull upward on the wefts — this can loosen them.
Wash 2-3 times per week with sulfate-free shampoo. Hand-tied wefts don't need daily washing — over-washing can dry out the hair.
Be gentle around the rows. Shampoo your scalp carefully, using your fingertips to work around the beaded rows without tugging or pulling.
Apply conditioner to mid-length and ends only. Avoid the rows and beads — conditioner can cause slippage if it gets on the attachment points.
Rinse thoroughly but carefully. Support the wefts with your hand while rinsing to prevent tangling and unnecessary pulling.
Gently squeeze excess water out with a towel. Don't rub, twist, or wrap tightly — wefts can tangle easily when wet.
Let air dry when possible. If blow-drying, use medium heat and brush as you dry to keep the wefts smooth and tangle-free.
Never go to bed with wet wefts. Wet hair tangles at the rows, and matting can occur if you sleep on damp extensions.
You can use heat tools on the extension hair. Always use heat protectant spray and avoid applying direct heat to the rows or beads.
Updos and ponytails work beautifully with hand-tied wefts. The rows are flat and hidden, so you can style your hair without worrying about visibility.
Use lightweight styling products. Heavy oils and serums can weigh down the wefts and make them look greasy. Apply products to mid-lengths and ends only.
Sulfates and alcohol in products — they dry out extension hair and can affect bead grip.
Sleeping with wet hair — causes tangling and matting at the wefts.
Pulling on the rows — avoid brushing upward through the beads or tugging on the wefts.
Chlorine and salt water without rinsing — rinse immediately after swimming to protect the wefts and beads.
Keep your move-up appointments every 6-8 weeks. As your natural hair grows, the rows move down and need to be repositioned.
Between appointments, check for any loose beads or shifting rows. If you notice anything unusual, reach out sooner rather than waiting.
The hair itself lasts a year or longer with proper care. You're only paying for repositioning, not new hair each time.
